Moving on...

I'll have more on this later, but I'm pleased to announce that The Bloom Agency of Winston Salem, NC has acquired august communication consultants. I'm in the process of setting up shop at Bloom, where I'm the director of interactive marketing.

I'm looking forward to writing about what this means for Bloom, and for me and august's clients. The short story: deeper creative and content capabilities, new opportunities for interactive projects, and a slightly longer morning commute.

Blogging: flow and identity

Blogging has been tagged with the suffocating "2.0" suffix and the suggestion that there's a massive shift happening and bloggers need to rethink their traffic-hungry ways. Then along comes Stowe Boyd to smartly point out that yes, there are shifts occurring, but they aren't matters of bloggers' intent. Rather, "blogging 2.0" represents a need to look for new ways to handle conversation flow and online identity.

Cuil is...well, cooling off

The hype around new search engine Cuil was white hot for what seemed to be all of two days, then disappeared. I was curious to see if Cuil gained much traction during its launch. I found what I expected: Plenty of sudden interest, then a steep decline in traffic.
